 Instructor Rasta (Shandon Allen) was born in 1976 in Beaufort, South Carolina. Starting his martial arts training at the age of six in Memphis, Tn, he has been studying various systems for over twenty-five years. He has been studying Capoeira for over 10 years under the leadership of Mestre Cesar Di Alabama. Beginning his capoeira training in Miami, Florida, Instructor Rasta has also trained in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and attending rodas elswhere whenever possible. Besides teaching Capoeira, Instructor Rasta has also performed in various shows and events in colleges, museums, schools and cultural centers in the Tri-State area including a presentation for the mayor of Memphis. He has taught master's classes for the Tennessee Teacher's Association of Dance, Latino-Memphis, The Memphis Arts Council's discontinued programs for inner-city underprivileged youth, and the Delta Center for Fine Arts to name a few. Instructor Rasta is currently heading Nacao Capoeira in Memphis, Tn while maintaining his continuous training under Mestre Cesar.
